Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
To better secure the Wake Tech network and strengthen the college’s ability to identify and manage cyber threats, all students will begin utilizing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). MFA is the practice of requiring additional forms of authentication to log in to the college’s network. In our case, texts, phone calls, or smartphone authentication app are the accepted methods.
MFA Resources:
- MFA Awareness Video-Learn more about MFA and why it’s important
- Students should review the MFA User Guide before registering for MFA.
Note: The Microsoft MFA solution does not support native email clients via iPhone or Android. If you currently use your mobile device to access your Wake Tech email, you will need to install the Microsoft Outlook mobile app on your device to continue to do so after MFA registration.
Please contact the IT Service Desk at 919-866-7000 if you have any questions.
